This beer is drinkable and light. Comparing it to another Asian beer, I found it wasn't as all bitter the way I remember 33 Export.* Overall, it's an enjoyable light beer and I'd probably prefer it over a Bud Light. 6:05PM PT

*Interestingly, my notes on 33 Export emphasize its sweetness. Guess I'll have to have an updated taste test.

After finishing my glass of Deschutes Black Butte Porter I decided to try the Mirror Pond. Having tried many of the other beers by Deschutes Brewing Company, it comes as a bit of a surprise that I haven't already tried and blogged about this one.

In any case, the beer had a grassy smell, but the taste wasn't bitter. With that being said, my sinuses were acting up from one or both of beers, though typically pale ales will more than likely have that effect on me.

While drinking the beer, I also noted that there was a mild, malty coating imparted on my tongue. 7:58PM PT

Website Information:
Mirror Pond Pale Ale
Mirror Pond Pale Ale is the quintessential northwest pale ale. Cascade hops and more Cascade hops give this tawny colored ale delicious hop-forward aroma and flavor. Pale malt allows the hops to linger, not overpower.

Brewer Notes
Floral, citrus, and caramel notes. Balanced with the beautiful simplicity of the Cascade hop.

Malt: Pale, Crystal, Carapils, Munich
Hops: Cascade
Alc.: 5%
IBU.: 40
Cal.: 170/12oz
Cert.: Born in Oregon

Before heading to the airport, I popped open this bottle of Éphémère Pear and took several sips of it before heading out. While I didn't take any notes, I roughly recall finding, like the Éphémère Apple,* that sometimes it tasted good and sometimes it tasted bad.

Overall, there's no guarantee that one would like this beer if one typically enjoys ciders or fruity beers such as Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat. However, I would be willing to suggest the Éphémère series to anyone who enjoys the Organic Fruit Beer series by Samuel Smith's (e.g., Apricot, Cherry, Raspberry).

*I had a sip of the Éphémère Apple on 20160225.
