Coronado Early Bird

20180124:
[Previous Note: Guava Islander IPA (B)]

(C) This stout had a stout smell. It had a delicious, toasty flavor.

It was a great beer in every aspect; it exceeded every expectation I had for a milk stout. 6:39PM PT

[Next and Previous Note: Guava Islander IPA (D)]

(E) The milk stout, in comparison to the Stingray and Guava Islander, had no discernible bitterness. It was also malty. 7:02PM PT

[Next Note: Stingray Imperial IPA (F)]
[Previous Note: Guava Islander IPA (G)]

(H) This beer tasted like coffee, which is an appropriate observation, because it turns out this beer is a mocha stout. I was going to point out the coffee taste earlier (than this note) but I had doubted myself.

It was a good stout. 7:14PM PT

Finally, I reached the final sips for all the beers - though finishing them was a chore because I was so full. The milk stout was solid.

[Next Note: Stingray Imperial IPA (I)]

(B) This beer had a sweet smell. 6:01PM PT

(D) I came back to the Guava Islander IPA after finishing half of the Early Bird. It tasted sweet like the smell. Though it was technically bitter, relative to the Stingray Imperial IPA and Early Bird, it wasn't.

While it should taste like guava, it reminded me of eating a tangerine.

On a different note, the smell remained amazing.

The beer was extremely bitter. 6:53PM PT

[Previous Note: Stingray Imperial IPA (F)]

(G) Relative to the Stingray, the Guava Islander was sweet.

(J) The final sip of the Guava Islander was sweet without being bitter. It was great. 7:30PM PT

A Tropical Twist.

Tropical fruit meets tropical vibes in this “guavacated” version of our Islander IPA. Brewed with the classic West Coast combo of Centennial, Chinook and Columbus hops, this beer gets the tropical treatment with a hefty dose of fresh guava puree. The result is a surprisingly smooth, unfiltered IPA bursting with tropical goodness that’s sure to put you in that island state of mind.

Coronado Stingray Imperial IPA

20180124:
(A) This beer had a lot of carbonation. There was a hint of citrus. There was a sweetness. Otherwise, it had a grassy taste. It was a good IPA. 5:38PM PT

There was a lingering (bitter) taste, but the beer was mostly pleasant. I'd rate it as 4.3 or 4.5 out of 5 stars. 5:46PM PT

[Next Note: Guava Islander IPA (B)]
[Previous Note: Coronado Early Bird (E)]

(F) After having each of the three beers, I began to try and finish them. The Stingray tasted bitter.

(I) The final sip of The Stingray, compared to that of the Early Bird, was quite tasty. However, it was also accompanied by bitterness.
