20140328:
I'm here at Donna's and to drink I got a bottle of Flying Dog Woody Creek.

NOTABLE NOTES FOR $1000:
Woody Creek is a traditional Belgian Wit, which involves brewing it with coriander and orange peel. It is one of the few beers we brew that has more than the four standard ingredients of beer (water, malt, hops, and yeast).

New Belgium Spring Blonde

20140322:
I'm here today at the Metro Gallery for the San Fermin concert, and before the end of the opening band's set I left towards the bar so that I could have a cup of beer in hand before San Fermin gets on the stage.

Having gotten The Raven Special Lager earlier tonight, I decided to get the only other beer available on draft, "New Belgium Spring Blonde Ale $6 (6%)."

I wrote: "New Belgium Spring Blonde Ale. Not much of a smell which I can detect. It has a nice and easy taste though. Light on the ale taste, e.g., not grassy at all." 9:34PM ET
I also wrote: "Like Lauren, I thought the beer was quite crisp." 9:36PM ET

SPRING BLONDE
BELGIAN STYLE ALE

Blondes are a favorite style among New Belgium employee-owners who have celebrated their 5-year anniversary with a spring trip to Belgium. These travels inspired our Spring Blonde and brought some old Belgium to New Belgium. Brewed with pale and Munich malts, this golden ale pours bright copper and holds a strong, white head aloft. A nose of lemon peel, pepper, and fresh baked bread entice a sipping. Spring Blonde drinks malty, sweet and wonderful. And the easy Nugget hopping pedals towards a dry, lightly bitter finish. Shed that coat, grab some bikes, and crack some beers.

SENSORY
VISUAL Copper gold, clear, light white foam and lacing.
AROMA Spicy black pepper and cloves; caramel, bread dough and cake batter; and a smattering of fruits: lemons, apples, pears and lemon.
FLAVOR Begins malty-sweet, finishes with a bitter linger.
MOUTHFEEL Coating in the middle with a dry finish.
BODY Medium-bodied.

Rogue Chocolate Stout

20140319:
It's movie night tonight and we (the group of people watching) just finished Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (2008). Taking a short break before starting Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010), I opened a bottle of Rogue Chocolate Stout.

I wrote: "Nice and... well... I have trouble describing this beer, but it tastes good. It has a slight black stout taste, but I don't detect any hint of chocolate. It's good." 11:01PM ET

Earlier in the evening I had some Heavy Seas Yule Tide.

[20140404]

20150906:
This Rogue Chocolate Stout was malty, but it didn't taste like chocolate milk the way Boulder Beer Shake Chocolate Porter did.

After tasting the beer, I noted it had a pitch black color and a smelled like Nestle chocolate powder (i.e., malty). 12:27AM PT

SoCo, Peach Schnapps, Cranberry Juice

20140310:
After having a flight of beers from Brewer's Art, I decided to order a mixed drink.

Vaguely remembering a drink I once had (20120211), I ordered a glass of Southern Comfort and Peach Schnapps with cranberry juice. While I left the proportions up to the bartender, I assume she poured a shot each of SoCo and Peach Schnapps before topping the glass off with cranberry juice. The combination was then shaken with ice before being poured into a cup.

If I recall, I thought it was a good combination.

While the drink I had in mind was from 20120211, I ordered a drink that was more similar to this one on 20110203. All three are essentially variations of one another.

Brewer's Art Sangreale

For the Sangreale I wrote the following:
"The Sangreal, like the Bière de Mars, also has a banana smell." 10:42PM ET
"The reason the Sangreal has a banana smell/taste like the Resurrection Ale is because the Sangreal is a a 'remix' of the Resurrection Ale. However, I like the Sangreal much better than the Resurrection." 10:54PM ET

Peach Schnapps and Sprite

20121007:
Today was my friends' wedding and I decided, for my last drink for the night, to get Peach Schnapps and Sprite. It was simple, but delicious. I love peach and this drink was the perfect way to end the night (at least as far as alcohol goes). 10:56PM ET

20140301:
Today my friend called me in the evening and asked if I wanted to get a drink. Having spent the entire day preparing for my dissertation defense, I gladly accepted the invitation and we met at CVP (Charles Village Pub).

There, I had a Union Duckpin Pale Ale, an Evolution Sprung, and a mixed drink. While I already tried the Evolution Sprung last week, I also had most, if not all, of the other beers available on draft. Thus, I decided to have an Evolution Sprung, because it would only be there temporarily (until the keg kicks) and it stood out as being one of the tastier beers.

(20140301)

Of the beer I wrote: "Sprung Evolution. This beer tastes sweeter than the Duckpin Pale Ale. It also seems less bitter." 10:39PM ET
