I smelled the beer and thought it was the same as any other, but I tasted it and it tasted absolutely amazing. It was smooth, and it didn't have an alcoholic taste; this, however, might have been because I've already sampled several strong beers in succession. This hypothesis was supported by the beer's strong finish (the last sip was strong). 6:29PM PT

BREWER'S NOTES
Brewed in honor of the 1000th batch at our original Clybourn brewpub. A liquid as dark and dense as a black hole with thick foam the color of a bourbon barrel. The nose is an intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel and smoke. One sip has more flavor than your average case of beer.
