Victory Golden Monkey

Smells good. Drinkable, light tasting. I was gonna say it tastes like Blue Moon. And I realized that my senses and tastes for beers are improving, because this beer advertises itself as a "Belgian-style" beer. Blue Moon is a "Belgian-style witbier."

But there's always something to learn. Today I was reading BeerAdvocate.com's description of a "Tripel" ale and the last sentence reads "Tripels are actually notoriously alcoholic, yet the best crafted ones hide this character quite evil-like and deceivingly, making them sipping beers." Then I looked at the Golden Monkey bottle and saw it is 9.5% ABV. True to the description of a tripel, I wouldn't have known the beer was that alcoholic..

As the beer warmed up, the beer was wonderful to smell. Clumsily, I sniffed some up my nose. Good thing nobody was around to see.

I was going to drink only half, but the beer's good taste convinced me to drink it all.

That's funny that this time I drank only half, when apparently last time I tried this beer, I was only going to drink half, but liked it so much I drank the rest of it.
