I was here at Eureka! and I had just finished my Slice of Darkness.* While I was planning to leave, a good beer conversation left me looking at Eureka's list of beers on tap. After some thought, I decided to have a taste of the High Water Campfire Stout.
While it was just a sip or two worth of beer, I gave the small sample a whiff and I initially thought it smelled like bubblegum. At the least, it was a strange smell. Perhaps more importantly, I did not enjoy the taste.
With that being said, it's important to note that I was coming off a cold and it was only a sample.
I decided to order a Linden Street Emperor Norton.
*I later learned (20150327) that this beer was a collaboration between Triple Voodoo and High Water. Coincidentally, I decided to taste this High Water Campfire Stout.
[20150327]
While the beer's name might suggest a smoky-flavored stout, the beer's description (below) suggests it should be called a S'More Stout. Perhaps the company was going for a more unique name.
